Testing Standards

1. Test Equipment Parameters

1.1 Glow-wire: Ni80/Cr20 nickel-chromium alloy wire with a diameter of 4 mm

1.2 Temperature: 750±3℃ (applied to the specimen after stabilizing for 1 minute)

1.3 Contact Pressure: 1.0N±0.2N (applied vertically)

1.4 Contact Duration: 30 s±0.1 s

1.5 Temperature Measurement: Type K Class 1 thermocouple, with the welded junction located 1 mm from the tip of the glow-wire

2. Specimen Requirements

2.1 Taken from a microduct coupling specimen; retains original wall thickness and structure

2.2 Pre-conditioning: Placed in an environment of 23℃ and 50% RH for 24 hours prior to testing


3. Test Procedure

3.1 Energize and heat the glow-wire to 750℃, maintaining a stable temperature for 1 minute

3.2 Apply the glow-wire vertically to the surface of the specimen with a pressure of 1.0 N for a duration of 30 seconds

3.3 Remove the glow-wire and commence a 30-second observation period

3.4 Full Recording: Whether ignition occurs; duration of flame/glow; presence of burning droplets; and whether any droplets ignite the tissue paper placed underneath


4. Acceptance Criteria (All conditions must be met simultaneously)

4.1 No ignition occurs; or, if ignition does occur, the flame/glow self-extinguishes within 30 seconds after the glow-wire is removed. (tₑ≤30 s)

4.2 During the test and after removal of the glow-wire, no burning droplets shall ignite the tissue paper placed beneath the specimen

4.3 No continuously burning flames or burning fragments shall fall outside the test bench area.
