Flexible MDU Drop Cable Assemblies-Patch Cord
Product Overview
Flexible SC Pushable Assemblies are factory pre-terminated and polished SC connectors designed to be terminated on simplex Flexible MDU Drop Cable Assemblies, allowing for connectorization on one or both ends. After being pushed , pulled or blown through microduct and small holes that are typical of most FTTX scenarios, the smooth wall protective sleeve is easily removed and two pieces of outer housing are snapped into place. This creates an industry standard connector without mechanical or fusion splicing.
Flexible Simplex Round Armored Cable Assembly has more flexibility and ruggedness than standard Optical Cable making it ideal for shorter drops where more handling and slack storage may be required. Whether it’s used indoor or outdoor, the flexibility of the armored cable allows for deployment with reduced cable memory and decreases the risk of kinking. While Flexible cable assembly is typically used in conjunction with microduct solutions, in some applications , it can be stapled directly to walls and ceilings or used on building wrap applications.
Flexible MDU Drop Cable Assemblies can be successfully pushed through 5 mm (0.2 in) holes and microduct bores as small as 5.5 mm (9/64 in). Hand push distances vary according to bend frequency and duct quality. The rugged nature of the armored cable assembly reduces the cost of fiber deployments as well as the skill and difficulty of handling and connecting customer drop cables.
Product Advantages
REACH & RoHS compliant.
Industry-standard SC Flexible connector.
Installs inside microducts with bores as small as 5.5 mm (9/64 in) I.D.
Pre-terminated so no field splicing/mechanical termination, tool-less installation.
Armored low friction outer sheath provides ruggedized protection for the patch cord or pigtail.
Suitable for all types of indoor and outdoor implementations.(duct required for aerial and direct bury)
Smooth wall protective sleeve is easily removed and two pieces of outer housing are snapped into place.
Tech-friendly pre-terminated pushable connectors rapidly decrease deployment times and reduce installation costs by eliminating in-field splicing.
