FCST-TH-SMC15
The FCST-TH-SMC15 is a modular composite telecom manhole chamber designed for underground cable and duct access applications.
Made from SMC/BMC composite materials, the chamber provides a lightweight alternative to traditional brick-built chambers. Its modular sectional design allows contractors to adjust the chamber depth on site by stacking sections according to the required burial depth.
The chamber is designed for EN124 D400 load applications and can be used in underground telecom, municipal, power, road, water, and drainage infrastructure.
With lightweight components, pre-formed duct entry points, and a modular construction method, the FCST-TH-SMC15 helps simplify installation and reduce on-site labor requirements.
The FCST-TH-SMC15 is designed with an EN124 D400 manhole cover load grade, making it suitable for heavy-duty underground infrastructure applications.
The chamber sections can be stacked to achieve the required installation depth. This allows contractors to adapt the chamber configuration to different burial depths without modifying the main chamber structure.
The chamber uses SMC/BMC composite materials. Individual components are lightweight enough to be manually handled and assembled on site, helping reduce the need for heavy lifting equipment.
All four sides are provided with reserved openings of up to 110 mm. The openings can be adjusted during installation according to the actual size of HDPE pipes, silicon pipes, or microducts.
The prefabricated modular structure avoids the need for traditional brick construction and on-site concrete work. According to FCST installation information, the complete chamber can be installed from excavation to reinstatement in less than one hour, depending on site conditions.
Transverse and vertical stiffeners are arranged around the outside of the chamber. When combined with properly compacted surrounding soil, the external structure helps keep the chamber stable during installation and after backfilling.
The FCST-TH-SMC15 has a designed service life of up to 30 years for underground infrastructure applications.

Compared with traditional brick-built chamber construction, the FCST-TH-SMC15 uses a prefabricated modular structure.
This means contractors can:
Handle → Stack → Connect → Backfill → Reinstate
without building the chamber section by section with traditional masonry methods.
The lightweight components also make manual handling and on-site assembly easier.
Prefabricated construction can reduce on-site installation costs by up to 80%, while the complete chamber installation can be completed in less than one hour under suitable site conditions.
