Photonic crystal fibers (PCFs), a next-generation optical fiber technology, have attracted considerable research attention due to their flexible structural design and excellent performance. Numerous types of PCFs exist, and numerous leading applications have emerged in various fields, including highly nonlinear PCFs for supercontinuum spectroscopy and grapefruit-shaped PCFs for fiber Bragg gratings with excellent temperature performance. However, substantial progress in their widespread application has yet to be achieved. The emergence of new hollow-core fiber technology promises a breakthrough.
