Placement Method of Aerial Fiber Optic Cable

There are currently two methods of placing overhead fiber optic cables: one is the fixed pulley Traction method, including artificial traction method and mechanical traction method; the other is the cable disk mobile release method.

A fixed pulley traction method

When using mechanical traction, the mechanical traction host should be placed at the cable collection end, and the auxiliary traction machine should be placed at the appropriate position of the erection route. At the cable release end, set up the fiber optic cable tray to be released, and manually push the fiber optic cable tray so that the fiber optic cable is gradually released from the top of the tray, so as to replace the manual traction with the mechanical one, and achieve the purpose of laying and releasing the fiber optic cable. In the traction end production, must ensure that the Traction force Mainly on the reinforcing parts of the fiber optic cable. Under the limitation of the permissible traction force of the fiber optic cable, the length of the fiber optic cable to be deployed at one time should depend on the terrain conditions. In addition, the traction speed of the fiber optic cable traction machine should be determined in advance. When the traction tension exceeds the standard, there should be an automatic cut-off or warning device.


After the fiber optic cable is placed, the length of fiber optic cable required for the joints and the length of fiber optic cable reserved for each pole should be reserved. Finally, the remaining cable with wrapped ends is hung on the pole.


Placement of hanging overhead fiber optic cable, can be appropriate in the pole to do expansion and contraction bend, in the medium load area, heavy load area, super-heavy load area, the general requirements of each pole are reserved; in the light load area, every 3 to 5 poles to do a reservation; for ice-free areas, you can not do the reservation (but the deployment of fiber optic cable can not be stretched too tight, pay attention to the natural verticality ). The specifications of the expansion bend of the fiber optic cable on the pole as shown in Figure 1, the center of the pole should be used to protect the center part of the polyethylene bellows, the length of the reservation is 2m (generally not less than 1.5m). Fixing and hanging of overhead fiber optic cables, generally using hooks. Fiber optic cable hook spacing is 50 cm, the allowable deviation should not be less than ± 3 cm. Hooks in the hanging line of the buckle direction should be consistent, hooks should be complete tray, there shall be no mechanical damage. The first hook on both sides of the pole should be 25 cm away from the cable clamp, and the allowable deviation should not be more than ± 2 cm.

The fiber optic cable disk mobile release method
This rack hanging method is to put the optical disk on the truck (one end of the cable will be fixed in the pole hanging line), manually push the optical disk, so that the optical cable along the overhead pole road release, while the cable hanging on the hanging line. In a pole distance after the release, the cable can be fixed in the hanging line, start the next pole distance of the release. This deployment method is simple to operate, but the use of trucks set up by the limitations of the conditions. When using this method, the following conditions should generally be met.


1.The width of the road allows vehicles to travel.
2.The distance of the overhead pole road from the roadside is not more than 3 m.
3.There is no obstacle in the overhead section.
